About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Progress Software Developer to join our team at DP World Australia. As a key member of our Technology Group, you will be responsible for the full development lifecycle of our Global Progress application.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement high-quality software solutions within tight deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Provide support for existing applications to ensure seamless operation and meet agreed service level agreements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and learning.
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex problems and facilitate onsite deployments of major projects.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues, proposing effective solutions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the team lead.

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree or third-level qualification in IT or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems and commands.
  • Full development life-cycle experience, including analysis, design, development, testing, code reviews, and implementation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with Progress 4GL and/or Progress OpenEdge development.
  • Working knowledge of Progress database, tables, and indexes.
  • Exposure to querying relational databases.
  • Working knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems and commands.
  • Experience in delivering development projects in a commercial environment.
  • Knowledge of REST API is an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of EDI and XML messaging.
  • Working knowledge of Zebra printers/ZPL coding is a plus.
