Consultant in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine

Position Overview: The Gastroenterology service at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking two locum full-time Consultants specializing in Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine.
Department Mission: Our Gastroenterology Department is dedicated to delivering a comprehensive range of services for patients experiencing gastroenterological issues. We are equally committed to fostering development, education, training, and research across all levels.
Service Delivery: We operate across three sites, closely collaborating with the Hepatology Department at St Mary's Hospital and the Pancreatic/Biliary Medicine Department at Hammersmith. Each site is equipped with inpatient beds, outpatient clinics, and endoscopy units, ensuring we cater to a diverse patient demographic.
Endoscopy Services: Our endoscopy units are JAG accredited and provide extensive diagnostic and therapeutic interventional services. The role may involve performing endoscopic procedures at any of the three locations, including upper and lower GI endoscopy, capsule endoscopy, ERCP, EUS, and luminal stenting. We also offer advanced services such as HALO radiofrequency ablation for Barrett's oesophagus and digital SPYGLASS cholangioscopy.
Clinical Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to enhance and maintain the clinical services in Gastroenterology at our Trust. The evolving configuration of surgical services has created a demand for additional therapeutic endoscopy services. The post holder will primarily contribute to the General Gastroenterology and Endoscopy services at St Mary's Hospital, with opportunities to participate in on-call services.
Qualifications: Applicants must be proficient in upper and lower GI endoscopy. We welcome additional sub-specialty interests that complement our existing team.
