Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a prominent healthcare provider in East London, recognized for its commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and fostering medical education. As a teaching hospital, we play a vital role in training the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Role Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will undertake a comprehensive training program, divided into two six-month rotations:
1. Gastroenterology:
- Engagement in the management of gastroenterological patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Participation in two outpatient clinics weekly.
- Involvement in endoscopy procedures, tailored to the individual’s skills and training requirements.
- Shared responsibilities for inpatient care and referrals.
- Active participation in multidisciplinary team meetings and departmental discussions.
- Contributions to audit and quality improvement initiatives.
2. Acute Medicine:
- Collaboration within the medical team on the Acute Care Unit, ensuring safe and compassionate care for patients during their initial hospital admission.
- Engagement with a diverse team of consultants and registrars to provide comprehensive medical care.
- Opportunities to participate in the delivery of emergency care without the need for inpatient admission.
