About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Neonatal Nurse to join our dedicated team at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust. As a Neonatal Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients, supporting their families, and contributing to the development of our Neonatal Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert care to neonates, including those requiring intensive care, and support their families throughout their stay.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high standards of care, embedding best evidence-based practice.
  • Support students, colleagues, and peers in their professional development, promoting a culture of learning and improvement.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of ward strategies, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in advanced neonatal life support, including initiating cooling, high-frequency oscillation, and nitric oxide therapy.
  • Empower families to care for their baby's needs, providing education and support to promote family-centered care.
Requirements
  • Relevant experience in neonatal nursing, including intensive care experience.
  • Current NMC registration and relevant post-basic qualification in neonatal nursing.
  • Teaching and assessing qualifications, with the ability to mentor and support students.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to delegate and support ward/department manager in strategy development.
  • Knowledge of change management and its application in a healthcare setting.
