Position Overview

We are seeking a committed and skilled professional to take on the role of Lead Nurse within the Interventional Radiology department. In this capacity, you will oversee a team of Registered Nurses, ensuring the delivery of high-quality nursing care. Key Responsibilities

As the Lead Nurse, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating and managing a high-quality service in alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Ensuring the smooth operation of procedure schedules and the preparation of patients prior to procedures, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintaining effective communication within the team and demonstrating expertise in interventional procedures.
  • Providing care in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
  • Taking charge of proactive case management for patients within your clinical area.
  • Delivering nursing leadership to ensure a high standard of nursing care and patient safety.
  • Managing nursing and operational activities around the clock to guarantee a quality service while optimizing resource use.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN)
  • Teaching and assessing certification (ENB 998)
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
  • Ability to coordinate nursing care in an interventional radiology environment
  • Commitment to organizational objectives
  • Understanding of equal opportunities

Desirable:

  • Skills in phlebotomy, cannulation, and ECG
  • Relevant diploma or degree in nursing or a related field

Experience and Skills

Essential:

  • Minimum of five years of nursing experience
  • Significant experience at Band 6 in an acute care setting, including radiology or theatres
  • Knowledge of budget and human resource management
  • Proven management skills, including problem-solving and decision-making
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Desirable:

  • Experience at Band 7 level
  • Proficiency in IT
