Job Title: General Care Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate General Care Manager to lead our care home team in Aberdeen. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe running of the home, overseeing operations, and implementing care plans to meet the needs of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the care home, including nursing, care, housekeeping, and maintenance.
  2. Play a key role in influencing and implementing our exciting expansion plans, leading the house through its transition to the expanded care home.
  3. Lead the recruitment, supervision, and development of staff and volunteers to meet residents' needs.
  4. Implement care plans and audits to ensure compliance with Care Inspectorate and other regulatory standards.
  5. Oversee the budget, resource management, and financial reporting to the Board of Trustees.
  6. Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and maintenance of the facility and grounds.
  7. Promote the values of the Camphill Movement and foster a strong community spirit.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Experience & Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of 3 years' management experience in a relevant setting, ideally within social care or healthcare.
  2. A management qualification (e.g., SVQ 4 in Care Services Leadership and Management or equivalent) or be working towards one.

Skills & Competencies:

  1. Strong leadership abilities, with proven experience in managing teams and fostering a collaborative environment.
  2. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to oversee multiple tasks and ensure compliance with care and safety regulations.

Knowledge & Attributes:

  1. A sound understanding of care sector regulations, including health & safety, infection control, and the Care Inspectorate.
  2. Empathy and a commitment to upholding the dignity and well-being of residents.

Personal Qualities:

  1. A compassionate and caring nature.

Additional Requirements:

  1. Participation in a weekend on-call rota.
