Alexander Steele Recruitment is seeking an experienced Environmental Sustainability Manager to join our client, a leading international food manufacturer based in the UK. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of environmental management policies and systems across the company's UK sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement environmental management policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote sustainable practices.
  • Lead the environmental management audit programme, ensuring timely completion and provision of necessary guidance and support to all sites.
  • Manage the annual environmental review for UK sites, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain effective waste management and recycling processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) programme, ensuring that all assessments are completed in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience in a dynamic food manufacturing environment, with a strong background in environmental management.
  • IEMA Certification/NEBOSH Environmental Certification.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary of £63,000, plus a £9,000 car allowance.
  • A 10% bonus scheme.
  • A 5% pension contribution.
  • 33 days' holiday per year.
  • A Monday-to-Friday working schedule, with regular working hours.
