Deputy SENCO Job Opportunity

EdEx – Education Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Deputy SENCO to join our client school in Newham. This is a full-time, permanent position that will commence in January 2025.

About the Role

  • Work closely with an experienced and strong SENCO to provide support to SEN pupils.
  • Assist in completing EHCPs and assessments to ensure progress is being made.
  • Provide additional support where needed to ensure the needs of SEN pupils are met.
  • Collaborate with a range of professionals to ensure effective support.
  • Be prepared to step in as the main SENCO if needed.
  • The school is willing to provide funding for the successful candidate's SENCO qualification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the SENCO in providing a high-quality education for SEN pupils.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of SEN policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to ensure effective support for SEN pupils.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of SEN pupils.
  • Provide training and support to staff on SEN-related issues.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of SEN policies and procedures.
  • Experience of working with SEN pupils and staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
