Oxford Health NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Ward Manager to join our Mental Health team. As a key member of the ward management team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and staff development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Ward Manager in achieving the unit's objectives in terms of patient care, staff development, and service development.
- Provide clinical leadership of the ward environment, promoting the principles of recovery and ensuring individualized, safe, and effective care provision for all patients.
- In the absence of the Ward Manager, take necessary managerial action to ensure compliance with organizational and stakeholder requirements.
- Undertake personal development and participate in staff appraisal and clinical supervision.
- Articulate a clear vision of the standards expected within the team and contribute to a positive learning environment.
- Provide supervision and mentorship to qualified and unqualified staff, including students.
- Ensure that nursing is practiced within the Clinical Governance Framework, creating an environment where excellence in care flourishes through effective leadership and staff management/development.
- Audit standards of care and deal with human resource management approaches.
