AWE Plc is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Lead to enhance our dynamic team, concentrating on the acquisition of significant investment initiatives encompassing construction, site enhancements, and asset management, including refurbishment and decommissioning.

With a strong background in procuring intricate works and services, you will collaborate closely with the Principal Procurement Manager, playing a vital role in the formulation and execution of strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier relationship management, contributing to one of the UK's most pivotal infrastructure projects over the next decade and beyond.


Key Responsibilities:

Join a category team comprising 5 or more procurement specialists, operating within a matrix structure.


Lead the execution of AWE's procurement strategy, engaging with the market and managing tender processes, employing collaborative and innovative procurement and contracting methodologies for your designated categories.


Facilitate the creation of market entry strategies that embrace contemporary procurement concepts, ensuring adherence to procurement regulations and our commitments to equality, fairness, and transparency.

Oversee the daily procurement activities for complex infrastructure solutions, including alliances and strategic partnerships.


Assist in the development and execution of relevant procurement procedures, fostering a culture of shared best practices and continuous improvement.

Ensure compliance with governmental procurement regulations and AWE's structured procurement protocols.


We are looking for candidates with experience in:


Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex contractual agreements, ideally utilizing various pricing structures and incentive models under NEC contracts.

Formulating and implementing tender, evaluation, and negotiation strategies, including subcontract provisions and selection processes.


Strategic category management, with a solid understanding of modern procurement practices.


Collaborating within cross-functional teams across multiple programs while managing diverse stakeholders and priorities.


Operating within complex procurement sectors such as defense, nuclear, utilities, or transportation.


MCIPS qualification is preferred, or a willingness to pursue CIPS membership as part of your professional development plan.


Compensation Package:
Salary ranging from £46,000 to £60,000 (dependent on experience and suitability)
