About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Philanthropy Manager to join our Philanthropy Team at Helen & Douglas House. As a key member of our team, you will play a strategic role in the development of fundraising, helping to make a real difference to local children and families who use our care services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive major gifts and trusts fundraising strategy to achieve significant income growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with high-profile funders and supporters to secure major gifts and trusts funding.
  • Work closely with the CEO and Director of Income Generation to develop and deliver complex income and expenditure budgets.
  • Maximize donor recruitment, retention, and lifetime value through effective stewardship and relationship-building.
  • Collaborate with the Philanthropy Team to identify and pursue new fundraising opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience in major donor and/or trust fundraising, with a proven track record of success.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience in developing and delivering complex income and expenditure budgets, including regular variance reporting and reforecasting.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid full-time role, with 2 days per week spent working in our office in Oxford.
