School Careers Advisor (Part-Time) - Bexley

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Careers Advisor to join our team at a vibrant secondary school in Bexley. This part-time role, 4 days per week, is perfect for someone passionate about guiding students through important career decisions and academic pathways.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide expert one-on-one careers advice and guidance to students, helping them identify their strengths, interests, and career aspirations.
  2. Organize and conduct workshops, career fairs, and talks with local employers and colleges to provide students with valuable networking opportunities.
  3. Assist students with applications for apprenticeships, university, and work experience opportunities, ensuring they are well-prepared for their future careers.
  4. Support students with UCAS applications, providing guidance on the application process and helping them to stand out.
  5. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the job market, apprenticeships, and further education, ensuring students receive the most relevant and accurate information.
  6. Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support students' career development, providing a collaborative and supportive environment.
Requirements:
  1. Experience in careers guidance, preferably within an educational setting, with a strong understanding of the local labour market and opportunities.
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire young people.
  3. Knowledge of local labour markets and opportunities, with the ability to provide students with relevant and accurate information.
  4. A valid Enhanced DBS and up-to-date safeguarding training, ensuring the safety and well-being of students.
