About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Sous Chef to join our team at Uppingham School in Rutland. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for all food production across breakfast, lunch, and dinner service from one main kitchen.

You will also support with any planned ad hoc hospitality requirements throughout the year. This is an exciting, permanent, and full-time opportunity reporting to the Head Chef and Group Executive Chef on site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals for pupils, breakfast, lunch, and dinner in either a small hub kitchen or a boarding house kitchen.
  • Support with food orders and ensure compliance with allergens and Natasha's law.
  • Follow recipe cards to prepare, cook, and serve a range of meals.
  • Complete daily paperwork to cover due diligence.
  • Assist with deliveries, stock checks, and kitchen records.
  • Monitor and record temperatures of fridges, freezers, hot cabinets, and serveries.
  • Assist in daily and weekly kitchen deep cleans.
