Loss Prevention Specialist

Position Overview:
Responsible for ensuring the integrity and quality of crude oil and petroleum product movements by executing various quality assurance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Detects and addresses instances of excessive product loss.
- Promotes standardized practices for marine petroleum cargo measurement and inspection, ensuring adherence to API standards and company protocols with comprehensive documentation.
- Fosters a positive image of the company's dedication to environmental stewardship, public welfare, and effective profit management.
- Ensures the utilization of appropriate equipment and measuring instruments.
- Compiles field documentation that accurately reflects activities related to attended movements.
- Assesses the performance of inspection firms and their personnel.
- Engages with vessel officers and shore representatives to ascertain the necessity for additional gauging or testing.
- Minimizes remaining onboard (ROB) volumes through crude oil washing and stripping at discharge locations.
- Confirms and validates all volume measurements with independent inspectors.
- Must be prepared to work flexible hours, including nights, as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Technical expertise in transportation, including testing, inspection methodologies, and marine operations associated with oil transfer.
- Capability to interpret company policies, regulatory standards, and other relevant documentation.
- Comprehensive understanding of industry safety regulations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information and communications.
- Proficient in delivering thorough and effective customer service across all organizational levels.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Capacity to meet deadlines, including short-term, long-term, and urgent timelines.
- Ability to collaborate with others to tackle challenging tasks.
- Skill in managing multiple priorities to ensure timely completion of assignments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word and Excel).
