Our department, though compact, is highly active, offering a diverse array of non-invasive cardiac and respiratory assessments. We are currently in search of a motivated, self-driven, and diligent individual to join our team.

The ideal candidate will possess a positive, proactive mindset and the ability to excel in a fast-paced yet often demanding environment. A friendly demeanor is essential for interacting with our patients and visitors. The successful applicant must demonstrate a high standard of professionalism while delivering consistently exceptional service to patients, staff, and users of the Cardio-Respiratory Department.

This position involves working within the cardio-respiratory team as a healthcare science assistant. You will play an essential role in supporting our cardiologists, respiratory specialists, and cardiac physiologists in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular conditions. The department conducts various non-invasive diagnostic procedures, including electrocardiograms (ECG), Spirometry, and Ambulatory Holter recordings, which you will perform as part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will assist in the echocardiography section, which includes transferring patients from wards, aiding them in undressing, explaining procedures, and ensuring their comfort and safety during their time in the department. A significant portion of your duties will involve computer work, including maintaining patient digital records through the hospital's electronic system, with comprehensive training provided for the right candidate.

Required Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or above, with a science subject being advantageous.
  • Level 2 Healthcare Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Previous experience in healthcare and/or ECG is desirable.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, closely engaging with our Cardiology Consultants, specialist nurses, and cardiology team members.
