Position Overview

This role is designed for Peri-CCT trainees.

We invite applications for the position of Post CCT Fellow in Reconstructive Surgery, focusing on Major Trauma Reconstruction. This is a full-time role encompassing 10 programmed activities.

We seek candidates dedicated to delivering a high-quality Plastic Major Trauma service. The Plastic Surgery Department will provide governance, team structure, and support to facilitate professional growth. The role primarily supports the Major Trauma Centre.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Assist the orthoplastic/trauma service in achieving BOAST 4 compliance.
  • Engage in elective plastic surgery procedures.
  • Enhance the existing trauma service and contribute to lower limb reconstruction.
  • Possess the FRCS(Plast) qualification, have completed a CCT in plastic surgery, and hold full GMC registration with a license to practice in the UK.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, working alongside medical staff, nurse practitioners, and allied health professionals.
  • Participate in the transformation of the Directorate, with the role commencing as soon as feasible. These positions will be pivotal in leading and developing the Orthoplastic service.
  • Regularly check the email account used for application, including junk/spam folders, as this will be our primary communication method.
  • Contribute to a dynamic and innovative Plastic and Burns department, which includes a post-CCT fellowship program and research and teaching initiatives. The candidate should demonstrate competencies in general plastic and hand trauma.
