Base Materials Ltd is a prominent player in the chemical engineering sector, operating across two facilities. Our primary focus is on the production of advanced styling, modeling, and tooling materials, essential for creating high-quality precision molds, master models, jigs, and fixtures utilized in various industries, including automotive, aerospace, motorsport, marine, and other industrial applications.

As part of our strategic growth initiative, we are excited to introduce a newly defined UK Sales Manager position. Our organization is currently experiencing significant growth, and we are looking for an individual to lead our Business Development team, providing dynamic and focused leadership to capitalize on available opportunities. The ideal candidate will oversee the daily sales operations, ensuring alignment with targets while supporting our strategic objectives and continuously enhancing our structure, systems, quality, culture, values, and team development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the sales team with a focus on achieving targets.
  • Establish and meet ambitious annual goals for the team.
  • Ensure the team has access to necessary resources for success, including pricing information, performance reports, and CRM tools.
  • Develop clear action plans for each team member on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Enhance productivity by reviewing and implementing efficient sales processes.
  • Monitor sales activities closely and initiate improvements proactively to ensure alignment with strategic plans.
  • Optimize the current CRM system (Salesforce) for enhanced operational efficiency.
  • Prepare and deliver regular sales performance reports, ensuring relevant data is communicated effectively.
  • Facilitate a targeted approach to cross-selling and up-selling within the existing customer base.
  • Coach, support, and inspire the sales team to achieve their objectives.
  • Provide market insights to the Company Directors regarding competitive offerings and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement the Sales Strategy, working closely with other departments.
  • Identify and recommend growth opportunities across all service offerings and explore new market sectors.
  • Set and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Manage key accounts effectively.
  • Meet KPIs related to team management, customer retention, and acquisition.
  • Develop the sales team through objective setting, planning, and meaningful performance appraisals.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Formal or informal sales training.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in sales leadership.
  • Proven success in increasing company revenue through effective sales strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to open new markets and build strong relationships.
  • High level of intelligence and a quick learner.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with adherence to internal processes.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Detail-oriented with a methodical approach.
  • Proficient in Excel and familiar with Sage 50 and Salesforce CRM.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
