We are seeking an experienced Account Manager to join our accomplished Energy Intensive Division team. This division is dedicated to addressing the utility and sustainability requirements of large industrial clients. This role is home-based.
Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring that their client portfolio derives maximum commercial and operational value from the solutions offered.
You will oversee the client experience and foster long-term relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to support client retention and growth.
Client Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, demonstrating expertise and accountability.
- Cultivate and sustain trusted relationships with stakeholders at various seniority levels within each account.
- Advocate for your clients internally, collaborating with internal teams to ensure timely fulfillment of client needs and resolution of any issues.
- Maintain and manage CRM records diligently.
Commercial Responsibilities:
- Achieve challenging financial targets focused on client retention and business development.
- Proactively identify and manage a pipeline of retention and business development opportunities through tailored account management strategies.
- Understand the range of services provided and how they can address client needs effectively.
- Organize and present performance updates to clients to enhance retention and stimulate business development.
- Provide insights to commercial services teams to develop compelling value propositions and service schedules.
- Maintain a network of contacts for references and collaborate with marketing to create case studies from your client base.
Technical Expertise:
- Stay informed about industry trends in energy procurement, market conditions, net-zero initiatives, regulatory changes, and sustainability/ESG to maintain credibility with clients.
- Support the development and execution of risk management trading strategies on behalf of clients.
- Adhere to the company's Health & Safety Policy, ensuring personal and collective safety in the workplace.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- At least 5 years of extensive knowledge in the energy/utilities/sustainability services sector.
- Proven experience working with clients on flexible supply contracts.
- Proficient in IT, particularly with MS Office (especially Excel) and CRM systems.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and cultivate new opportunities.
- Excellent time management skills, capable of multitasking and prioritizing multiple deadlines.
Desirable:
- Minimum of 5 years in account management/client relationship/business development roles.
- Demonstrated success in achieving financial targets.
Additional Qualifications:
Essential:
- Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel for client meetings.
- GCSEs in English and Maths, along with A-Levels.
Desirable:
- Professional training in sales/account management.
- Higher-level qualification relevant to the role or equivalent educational background.
