Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled MRI Radiographer to become a vital member of our multidisciplinary team during an exciting phase of growth.

Our department is equipped with three MRI scanners, and the successful candidate will collaborate with a diverse team to conduct a comprehensive array of diagnostic imaging procedures.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will oversee the operational management of MRI personnel, guiding the delivery of MRI services and serving as a deputy to the Imaging Operational Manager.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive post-registration clinical experience, with a strong preference for those who have completed MRI postgraduate studies at the Master's level.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating within a professional MRI team to deliver high-quality diagnostic services.
  • Ensuring an efficient MRI service while upholding exceptional patient care standards.
  • Engaging with Imaging Department modality leads to guarantee the provision of timely and appropriate diagnostic imaging services.
  • Coordinating with various staff members throughout the organization.
  • Working alongside external partners involved in supplying equipment, materials, and services for diagnostic imaging.
  • Assisting in the organization of staff rotations in collaboration with other modality leads, requiring both administrative and clinical time in the department.
  • Providing training and supervision for junior staff and students.

Qualifications

Essential

  • BSc Radiography (Hons) or Diploma of College of Radiographers (or equivalent)
  • Postgraduate training at MSc level or equivalent in MR
  • Certificate in cannulation
  • CPD Portfolio
  • HCPC Registered

Desirable

  • Management or leadership qualification
  • MRI reporting qualification/ experience

Experience

Essential

  • Extensive experience at senior level (Band 7 radiographer or equivalent)
  • Experience in staff management, including individual appraisal, recruitment, and disciplinary matters

Desirable

  • Evidence of report writing, presentation, and investigation skills
  • Cardiac MR experience
  • Evidence of leadership and team-building capabilities
  • Change management experience
