Position: Board Secretary

An exceptional opportunity has emerged for a skilled Board Secretary to become part of the Scottish Ambulance Service.

The individual in this role will oversee the corporate governance framework of the Board, spearheading the ongoing enhancement and execution of governance systems to ensure compliance with legal mandates and statutory responsibilities.

You will be tasked with advising and facilitating the effective operation of the Scottish Ambulance Board, Governance Committees, Executive Team, and Management Groups, adhering to the highest standards of corporate governance and administration. This position will hold primary responsibility for managing governance issues related to the Board and its Committees. Additionally, you will serve as the main liaison for all Board-related matters, providing essential support to Board members and senior management throughout the organization.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive and collaborating closely with the Chair and Non-Executive Board members, the successful candidate will bring a wealth of expertise in corporate governance and administration to enhance decision-making processes at the Board, Governance Committee, and Executive Team levels. Effective communication and the ability to influence at the highest organizational tiers are crucial, as is the readiness to challenge governance or policy issues when necessary.

A comprehensive understanding of applicable legislation and professional standards is essential, along with a Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
