Role Overview
We are seeking a committed solicitor to become a vital part of the in-house legal team at the SSSC. In this role, you will deliver specialized legal counsel and support to various departments within the organization, focusing on a broad spectrum of governance issues. Your responsibilities will include interpreting and advising on our legislative framework as well as the regulations that govern public bodies and organizations at large.
The SSSC is a forward-thinking organization, and our legal team plays a crucial role in facilitating innovative initiatives, ensuring that the work remains dynamic and diverse.
Your contributions will be significant in upholding high governance standards within the SSSC, and you will have the chance to enhance your skill set by engaging in policy formulation, advising on risk management, and assisting with extensive corporate projects.
It is important to note that our in-house legal team operates separately from the Fitness to Practise team, which focuses on the investigation and presentation of fitness to practise cases.

- Proficiency in managing and advancing your own workload.
- Flexibility and eagerness to learn.
Given the diverse nature of the legal work we handle, we appreciate a team with varied legal backgrounds. Previous public sector experience is not a prerequisite. This position may appeal to solicitors from different areas, such as private practice, who are keen to transition their skills into an in-house context. Many of your essential skills are transferable, and your experience in client relationship management will be relevant in this role, without the pressure of meeting fee targets.
