Job Title: Process Safety Engineer

Job Summary:

TMM Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Process Safety Engineer to join our client's team in Aberdeen. As a Process Safety Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our client's operations and personnel.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Maintain Safety Cases: Develop and maintain vessel safety cases and support formal safety assessment studies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and Maintain Bow-Tie Diagrams: Develop and maintain bow-tie diagrams for major accident hazards associated with vessel operations to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Assist Technical Authorities: Assist technical authorities in the identification of safety and environmentally critical elements (SECE's) and develop associated performance standards and assurance activities.
  • Maintain Performance Monitoring Solution: Maintain and continue to improve the real-time digital barrier and process safety performance monitoring solution (Presight) to ensure optimal performance.
  • Review Operational Risk Assessments: Review operational risk assessments for temporarily degraded plant, processing, and people barriers to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments: Facilitate hazard identification and risk assessments carried out in support of the management of change process to ensure the safety of personnel and assets.
  • Develop Emergency Response Plans: Assist in the development of emergency response plans for the major accident hazards identified in the safety case to ensure preparedness and response.
  • Develop Process Safety Training Material: Develop process safety training material for the offshore workforce to ensure they are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their duties safely.
  • Coordinate Inspections: Coordinate inspections carried out by the Competent Authority (OMAR/OPRED) and ensure that any findings are logged, followed up, and closed out in a timely manner.
  • Control Documents and Correspondence: Control documents and correspondence sent to regulatory bodies to ensure statutory documentation is submitted in a timely manner.
  • Review Industry Standards: Review relevant industry standards against asset integrity procedures and identify any upgrades or policy impacts to ensure compliance.
  • Liaise with Clients: Liaise with clients to resolve any process safety-related issues identified during the rig acceptance process and in operation.
  • Support Human Factors Integration: Support the integration of human factors into the management system to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Manage Consultancy Relationships: Manage external consultancy relationships where expert guidance is required to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Experience in a similar role within the oil and gas industry.
  • Education: Bachelor or Engineering Degree or equivalent.
  • Knowledge: Sound knowledge of offshore safety legislation, guidance, and associated industry standards.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of offshore drilling operations and associated equipment.
