Position Overview:

The role of the Specialist Nurse is pivotal within our healthcare framework, focusing on the delivery of high-quality nursing care at a Band 6 level.

Available Positions: Two roles are open, offering 37 hours and 22.5 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize advanced clinical expertise to guide decision-making and clinical judgment.
  • Provide specialized consultation to the multidisciplinary team regarding patient condition management through thorough assessment, treatment, and planning processes in collaboration with patients and their caregivers.
  • Offer expert advice to healthcare professionals, agencies, caregivers, clients, and family members.
  • Contribute to service enhancement by promoting best practices and collaborating across healthcare sectors, while implementing and assessing evidence-based standards, guidelines, and policies.

Regulatory Requirements:

This position necessitates membership in the PVG Scheme. If not currently a member for the required regulatory group, an application to Disclosure Scotland must be completed and approved prior to commencing the role.

Work Hours:

NHS Scotland is transitioning to a 37-hour full-time workweek, effective from April 2024, with no alteration in remuneration. This change will also apply proportionately to part-time staff. However, some service areas may require temporary adjustments to working hours, which will be compensated accordingly.
