Position Overview:
The role of the Specialist Nurse is pivotal within our healthcare framework, operating at a Band 6 level. We have openings for two positions, with one offering 37 hours and the other 22.5 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize advanced clinical expertise to guide decision-making and clinical assessments.
- Provide specialized guidance to the multidisciplinary team regarding patient management, ensuring collaborative assessment, treatment, and review planning in partnership with patients and their caregivers.
- Deliver expert advice to healthcare professionals, external agencies, caregivers, clients, and family members.
- Contribute to service development aimed at enhancing practices and fostering collaboration across healthcare sectors, while implementing and evaluating evidence-based standards, guidelines, and policies.

Regulatory Requirements:
This position necessitates membership in the PVG Scheme. If the candidate is not currently a member for the relevant regulatory group, an application to Disclosure Scotland will be required and must be approved prior to commencing the role.
Work Hours:
NHS Scotland is transitioning to a reduced full-time working week of 37 hours, effective from April 2024, with no alterations to salary. This change will also apply proportionately to part-time staff. While some service areas may not immediately implement this new schedule, candidates may be required to work an additional 30 minutes weekly temporarily, for which they will be compensated until adjustments are made.
