This position is part of the Subscriptions Marketing Team and plays a vital role in enhancing the growth of this segment within our prominent brands. The focus will be on attracting new subscribers and boosting engagement levels among both individual and group clients. Group subscriptions are integral to our growth strategy as we move forward.
Key Responsibilities
In this capacity, you will formulate extensive marketing plans aimed at both acquiring and retaining individual subscribers, while also generating leads for the sales team to secure corporate/group subscriptions.
Your primary goal will be to enhance digital engagement across diverse user demographics, differentiating between registered users (unpaid with limited access) and subscribers (paid with full access). Engagement will be driven through various channels, including email, web, print, events, and social media.
Collaboration with editorial teams is essential, utilizing available content for impactful engagement and acquisition campaigns. A data-driven approach will be central to your strategy, effectively segmenting audiences to personalize communication and timing, ensuring relevant messaging reaches specific groups. Monitoring key performance indicators such as open and click rates, cost per acquisition, return on investment, digital engagement, and renewal rates will be crucial, with an emphasis on continuous improvement through testing.
Your responsibilities will also include representing the brand at significant UK events, both virtually and in-person, serving as the marketing face for the brands. You will conduct thorough analyses of campaign performance, identifying successful strategies and areas for improvement, while consistently aligning efforts with annual marketing budget management.
Working closely with internal and external teams—data, digital, retention, and corporate—will be essential to maximize sales effectiveness and maintain cohesive messaging.
Required Skills and Experience:
- A solid background in marketing is essential, preferably within publishing, though experience in other sectors with paid subscriber bases will also be valuable.
- Comprehensive experience across both online and offline marketing channels. This role encompasses a wide range of marketing opportunities, and the successful candidate will be adaptable across various tasks.
- Ability to meet challenging targets within tight deadlines, prioritizing and establishing clear, measurable, and achievable goals.
- Proven experience in planning, managing, and executing marketing campaigns.
- Capacity to identify opportunities and translate ideas into actionable plans while addressing existing challenges with innovative solutions.
