Senior Arboricultural Officer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Contract Officer to join our team at the Highland Council. As a key member of our arboriculture team, you will be responsible for managing a small operational team of arboriculturists and external contractors, ensuring the effective management of trees and woodland on our estate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a small team of arboriculturists and external contractors to ensure the effective management of trees and woodland on our estate.
- Develop and implement strategies for tree management, including pruning, planting, and removal.
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure that tree management is integrated with other council services.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including contractors and other council departments.
Requirements:
- Honours degree and/or post-graduate degree in arboriculture or a related discipline.
- Full UK driving licence or access to transport.
