Job Title: Chief Governance Officer

Join the Highland Council as we seek a highly skilled and experienced Chief Governance Officer to lead our governance and compliance functions.

About the Role:

We are looking for a senior leader to drive improvement and service excellence across our organisation. As Chief Governance Officer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective governance and compliance strategies, ensuring that our organisation operates in a transparent and accountable manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement governance and compliance policies and procedures
  • Provide guidance and support to senior leaders and staff on governance and compliance matters
  • Ensure that our organisation is compliant with relevant laws and regulations
  • Lead on risk management and assurance activities
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective governance and compliance across the organisation

Requirements:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual with a strong background in governance and compliance. You will have a degree-level qualification and evidence of continuous professional development. You will also have a further relevant professional qualification, such as a postgraduate diploma in governance or compliance.
