We are delighted to be working with Elite Search Associates Limited, a leading recruitment agency, to recruit an experienced Payroll and Accounts Administrator to join their finance function on a full-time permanent basis.
This role will report to the Finance Manager and the successful candidate will be responsible for payroll for two companies. In addition, you will also assist in finance administration.
The Role:
- Maintain accurate employee records, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Prepare two monthly payrolls and ensure salaries are correct and paid on time, utilizing Sage Payroll software.
- Calculate all SSP, SMP, and other payments and deductions from salaries, adhering to HMRC guidelines.
- Record and monitor staff absences, including monitoring of annual leave to ensure staff are taking regular holiday, in accordance with company policies.
- Maintain accurate pension scheme membership records and ensure new starters are onboarded to the scheme in the correct manner, in compliance with pension regulations.
- Calculate all payments due to HMRC and pension providers and ensure these are paid in a timely manner, avoiding any potential penalties.
- Receive, check, obtain approval, and process all staff expense claims, ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement.
- Reconcile Company credit card statements with receipts, identifying any discrepancies or errors.
- Calculate all customer rebates due on a monthly basis, ensuring accurate and timely payment.
- Reconcile all claims for rebate payments from customers, verifying accuracy and completeness.
- Assist the other Finance Administrators with the processing of sales and purchase invoices as required, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Provide ongoing support to the Finance team as required and guided by the Finance Manager, contributing to the smooth operation of the finance function.
Experience / Skills / Attributes Required:
- Payroll experience in a similar role within the private sector, with a strong understanding of payroll software and systems.
- Basic accounting knowledge at sales and purchase ledger, with the ability to maintain accurate financial records.
- Experience of using ERP/MRP software and computerized financial packages, with a strong understanding of financial systems and processes.
- Up-to-date knowledge of trends and best practices relating to payroll, including taxation, SSP, SMP, pension rules, and other relevant laws and regulations.
- Ability to work on own initiative but also be a team player, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
