About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our estimating and sales teams at EMCOR UK. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in contributing to our targets and company objectives, focusing on renewals and new opportunities within Mission Critical Solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough and accurate building estimates for a range of projects within the MCS portfolio.
  • Develop innovative solutions to meet client requirements and deliver exceptional results.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry knowledge and competitors' methodologies to ensure we remain competitive.
  • Prepare and compile proposal submissions, including solution and option appraisal of new methods of project delivery to identify valid and viable commercial delivery options.
  • Drive continuous improvement in communications, management procedures, and systems to maximize profitability and improve operational efficiencies.
  • Implement 'best practice' and ensure its adoption across the division to establish meaningful commercial and operational data.
  • Obtain specialist subcontractor costs and read and understand client requests/documentation.
  • Attend site visits as required across the UK as part of the bid process.
  • Assist in the production of correspondence and documentation.
  • Update Pipeline Reporting System and contribute to the generation of BD Management information reports.
  • Progress submitted tenders and assist in the formulation of tender returns.
  • Establish agreed benchmarks for performance and measure performance versus contracted requirements.
  • Identify a broad range of cost-saving initiatives in line with contractual obligations.
  • Interact with client organizations as required, providing meaningful reports and proactive data and information.
Requirements
  • Hold a HNC/HND standard (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
  • Have experience in Data Centre projects, ideally.
  • Demonstrate excellent time management skills.
  • Have relevant experience of estimating within a main contractor.
  • Be proficient in IT skills, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Hold a driving license to travel to sites.
