About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Outreach Librarian to join our team at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Library and Knowledge Services team, you will play a vital role in supporting our staff and students in using evidence-based practice in decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement proactive and innovative library and knowledge services to enhance the quality of patient care and management decision-making.
  • Collaborate with our Library and Knowledge Services Manager to identify opportunities to promote our services and resources to Trust staff.
  • Design and deliver targeted marketing strategies to promote our Clinical Librarian service, including producing and delivering presentations to local conferences and study days.
  • Develop and maintain our library's presence on social media platforms and work with our team to utilize emerging technologies to support the delivery and promotion of our services.
  • Publicize and promote our Clinical Librarian service to specific individual teams and professional groups.
Requirements
  • Professional qualification in librarianship, information studies, or information science related disciplines.
  • Practical experience of working in a library or information service, with a strong understanding of web technologies and their application in library services.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders and service users.
  • Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to work on own initiative and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent IT literacy, with a strong understanding of library management systems and relevant legislation, including Copyright, Data Protection, and Freedom of Information.
