Job Title: Physiotherapist - Neuro Rehab Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Physiotherapist to join our Neuro Rehab team as a Specialist Physiotherapist. The successful candidate will have a strong background in neurological physiotherapy and be able to work autonomously in a complex clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Team Lead in planning, coordinating, and evaluating the Physiotherapy Service provided within the Neuro Rehab team.
  • Monitor and improve standards of care by efficient use of resources, utilizing clinical audit and research within the clinical area.
  • Proactively support patient flow through the hospital and across the Greater Manchester neurorehabilitation services.
  • Support band 5 physiotherapists, therapy assistants, and students within Neuro Rehab using appraisal, supervision, and PARE.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC registered in Physiotherapy
  • Postgraduate training relative to neuro-rehabilitation
  • Member of the CSP
  • Significant experience of working at Band 5 or Band 6 level or above within acute or community relevant to Neuro-rehabilitation
  • Experience of working in a complex MDT within a neurological or neuro-rehabilitation field
  • Evidence of effective communication skills with patients with altered cognition and barriers to communication
  • Evidence of respiratory skills and ability to work with patients with tracheostomies
  • Evidence of autonomous decision making in a neurological setting
  • Evidence of assessing and treating a wide variety of patients in a complex Neurosurgical clinical setting
  • Strong theoretical knowledge of neurological / neuro-rehabilitation goal setting
  • Knowledge of relevant national guidelines and standards relative to neuro-rehabilitation.
  • Evidence of supporting and supervising others such as Band 5's, therapy assistants, and students
  • Demonstrate sound understanding of EDI and leading by example
