Job Overview

The post holder will work within the Public Health Stream to promote the health and wellbeing of school age children, ensuring they reach their full potential and are not disadvantaged through ill health.

The Screener will have a key responsibility in undertaking the school health screening and surveillance programme, supporting the delivery of Key Improvement Priorities and contributing to the wider team's efforts to deliver high quality services for families.

Main Responsibilities

The post holder will deliver key areas of the service specification, national Healthy Child Programme, and public health outcomes framework. They will refer to specialist services in accordance with clinical pathways and support children and families to seek support where required.

The post holder will enter data results onto the computer child health system and local systmone, ensuring accurate and timely data entry.

The post holder will work alongside other professionals in the public health pillar, delivering key health promotion messages to support the health and wellbeing of children, ensuring every contact counts through the promotion of good health and the prevention of ill health in the community.
