Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable individual to join our team as a Food Service Operative. This role involves ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness in all food preparation and service areas.
Work Schedule
This position requires a commitment of 13 hours per week, with shifts scheduled between 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM or 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM. The successful candidate will work a combination of these shifts throughout the week, including weekends and public holidays as part of a rotating schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect food deliveries, ensuring quality, temperature, and quantity meet established standards.
- Store food items appropriately in compliance with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines.
- Serve meals to patients and staff, ensuring adherence to Food Temperature Regulations.
- Operate dishwashing equipment, maintaining cleanliness of dining utensils and crockery.
- Prepare fruits, vegetables, and salads for meal service.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of meals.
- Provide meal service in dining areas and prepare snacks and beverages as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and restock vending machines.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Basic Food Hygiene certification or willingness to obtain within six months of employment.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
Desirable:
- GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent qualifications.
- NVQ Level 1 or 2 in a relevant field.
- Prior experience in a food service or catering environment.
