Job Title: Food Service Assistant

Are you passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and working in a fast-paced kitchen environment? We are seeking a skilled Food Service Assistant to join our team at Ben-Motor and Allied Trades Benevolent Fund.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Executive Head Chef/Head Chef/Chef in delivering high-quality catering services to internal and external customers.
  • Prepare and cook appetizing, nutritionally balanced meals that meet the varied needs of customers.
  • Ensure all menu items and garnishes are prepared and ready for service.
  • Deliver food prepared within Ben premises, supporting food service to customers as required.
  • Prepare the dining room for food service and provide food and beverage service to customers.
  • Store food appropriately in fridges, freezers, and stores.
  • Participate in the implementation of quality assurance programs within catering services.
  • Comply with current Fire, Health & Safety at Work, Safe Food Handling, and Environmental Health legislation.
  • Maintain a clean working environment in the kitchen, cold room, and stores.
  • Operate catering equipment safely and in compliance with manufacturers' instructions.
  • Work within the required Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards and Ben policies and procedures.
  • Follow current infection control guidelines to minimize risk to customers, visitors, colleagues, and Ben.
  • Comply with Ben's Safeguarding guidelines and reporting procedures protocols and requirements.
Working Hours and Location:

32 hours per week, 10am to 6.30pm, Berwick-upon-Tweed, TD15 2JZ.

Salary:

£11.44 per hour.
