GIS Architectural Lead

Cognizant is seeking a highly skilled GIS Architectural Lead to join our geosolutions team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of GIS solutions that align with client project and strategic needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the overall GIS architecture, including data models, application frameworks, and integration strategies.
  • Lead GIS projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to GIS analysts, developers, and other team members.
  • Oversee the collection, storage, and analysis of spatial data, ensuring data integrity and quality.
  • Provide support and training to end-users, helping them effectively utilize GIS tools and applications.
  • Quality Assurance to ensure GIS products meet standards and user expectations.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of the GIS budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a leadership or architectural role with the proven experience in managing GIS projects and teams.
  • Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL).
  • Experience with cloud-based GIS solutions and enterprise GIS architecture.
  • Knowledge of spatial databases (e.g., PostGIS, Oracle Spatial).
