Job Overview

Fortice is seeking a highly skilled Lead GIS Architect to join their team and lead the development and implementation of GIS solutions for a global consultancy. The ideal candidate will have experience in leading GIS projects, designing and implementing GIS architectures, and providing technical guidance to team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the overall GIS architecture, including data models, application frameworks, and integration strategies.
  • Lead GIS projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to GIS analysts, developers, and other team members.
  • Oversee the collection, storage, and analysis of spatial data, ensuring data integrity and quality.
  • Design and implement integration strategies for GIS with other enterprise systems.
  • Provide support and training to end-users, helping them effectively utilize GIS tools and applications.
  • Ensure GIS products meet standards and user expectations through regular reviews and audits.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of the GIS budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.

Requirements:

  • Eligibility for UK Security clearance at SC level (5+ years in the UK).
  • Deep understanding of GIS principles, architecture, and best practices.
  • Experience in leading GIS projects and teams.
  • Strong technical skills in GIS software and technologies.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
