Position Overview

The role of Battery Energy Storage Systems Field Service Engineer is integral to the expanding Field Service Delivery Team within the Energy Sector, focusing on Energy Storage & Optimization, and Lifecycle Services. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of core electrical engineering principles, project management, and construction methodologies, along with hands-on experience in high-power electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute field service operations in alignment with contractual obligations and work schedules.
  • Assist in the commissioning of stationary battery energy storage systems and associated equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical and operational challenges at client sites, while documenting and suggesting product enhancements to achieve quality and cost objectives, ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Compile and deliver analytical reports with actionable insights and recommendations for addressing client technical issues as required.
  • Act as a local technical advisor during client meetings when necessary.
  • Generate service work reports and other pertinent documentation related to site or client visits.
  • Engage in service assignments for a minimum of 50% of the year.
Qualifications
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
  • Possession of a valid local electrical license to work independently, with a thorough understanding of electrical safety standards and regulations.
  • Willingness to relocate if not currently based in the designated area.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • 2-4 years of experience with energy storage systems and/or renewable energy, power systems design, and communication networks.
Technical Proficiency
  • Knowledge of PV Systems
  • Familiarity with OPC systems
  • Experience with variable frequency drives
  • Understanding of battery and inverter technologies
  • Proficiency in Windows server and UNIX/LINUX environments
  • Experience with PLC systems
  • Knowledge of industrial networks and protocols (e.g., Modbus TCP, Profibus, CAN-bus, CIP, Ethernet/IP, ControlNET)
  • Advanced skills in configuring firewalls and routers
  • Understanding of protection relays
  • Familiarity with NEMA and IP enclosure standards
