Job Overview:

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a Children's Residential Support Worker to join our team in a 6-bed Children's Residential service in Dudley. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people between the ages of 5-18 with Learning/Physical disabilities, complex health needs, autism, and challenging behaviors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the children, protecting them from risks to their health and welfare.
  • Maintain a homely and friendly culture and environment in the homes.
  • Perform household chores such as cleaning and doing laundry.
  • Deal with challenging behaviors when necessary.
  • Provide support for the children and young people in the home, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the individual's care plan, guidelines, reward system, and preferred method of communication.
  • Support with personal care and medication.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, parents, Social Workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Children's Support Worker or in a similar social care setting or with Young People is desirable but not essential.
  • Must be a driver, as you will be required to transport the young people from time to time.
  • Must be over the age of 21.
  • Must be an empathetic and relatable person, with good listening and communication skills, and a natural instinct to help others.
