Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and tech-savvy Personal Assistant to provide essential support to an individual residing in Blakelaw, Newcastle. This role requires a dedicated individual who understands the unique needs of individuals with visual impairments and is committed to fostering independence and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalized assistance with daily tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping.
- Facilitate communication by actively listening and responding thoughtfully to the individual's needs, considering potential challenges with hearing and visual impairment.
- Offer companionship and engage in meaningful conversations, respecting the individual's interests and preferences.
- Assist with accessing technology and navigating digital platforms, leveraging your passion for computers to enhance the individual's independence.
- Ensure a safe and comfortable environment by adhering to safety protocols and promoting well-being.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience working with disabled adults, particularly those with visual impairments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and patience.
- A genuine passion for technology and a willingness to learn new systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
