In this role, you will report directly to the Head of Portfolio, Pricing & Analytics at LM Re. Your primary responsibility will be to enhance actuarial portfolio management, pricing strategies, and analytics to optimize business performance and achieve operational objectives.

You are expected to leverage your comprehensive understanding of business implications to significantly impact decision-making processes. Providing clear actuarial guidance to senior management and various stakeholders on actuarial, underwriting, financial, and strategic issues will be a key part of your role.

Collaborating with the LMRe Actuarial Metaline teams, you will ensure that case pricing, model governance, and strategic planning are effectively delivered to management and underwriting stakeholders, thereby enhancing GRS A&DSS influence.

Your contributions will help improve underwriting decisions through account pricing, portfolio analysis, and product innovation.


Data & Analytics Team:

As a pivotal user of central Management Information, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that essential data is accurately captured and that appropriate underwriting metrics are developed and utilized.

The actuarial team is responsible for assessing business performance and providing management with a clear, risk-oriented perspective to inform business strategy and risk management decisions. This department encompasses various aspects of actuarial work, including pricing, non-catastrophe parameterization, and business planning.

Additionally, the team collaborates with other functions to support data & analytics, capital management, exposure management, and reinsurance purchasing & strategy.

The LM Re actuarial team comprises 19 professionals located across multiple regions, forming part of a larger 60-member actuarial team.


Responsibilities:

- Own and manage LMRe's pricing model risk governance framework.

- Ensure the successful delivery of projects in compliance with both internal and external standards.

- Develop and implement strategic initiatives that enhance the use of data and analytics in underwriting decision-making.

- Oversee the creation and delivery of advanced pricing tools, contributing to the evolution of pricing models on cutting-edge platforms as part of a broader underwriting transformation.

- Lead strategic projects across LMRe, collaborating with stakeholders to develop and deploy analytical models that drive competitive advantages.

- Enhance LMRe's approach to Portfolio Management by working closely with Underwriting Portfolio Managers, Data & Analytics, and Operations to ensure that analytical tools facilitate improved decision-making.

- Drive the provision of insightful and timely self-service Management Information on portfolios, lines of business, and key risks to support data-driven decisions.

- Maintain an understanding of the external and competitive landscape to bolster LM Re's market position and reputation.

- Adhere to all relevant regulatory requirements, demonstrating behaviors aligned with the Conduct Risk Policy, which is integral to LSM's commitment to Liberty Values.


Qualifications:

- Relevant experience in the general insurance, reinsurance, or consultancy sectors.

- Ability to apply a broad range of actuarial skills and business acumen, often derived from extensive technical experience.

- A degree in a numerate or scientific discipline with a minimum grade of 1 or equivalent, along with an A/A* in A-Level Mathematics or equivalent.

- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, capable of engaging with a diverse range of internal and external clients.

- Strong IT proficiency with practical experience (or a willingness to learn) in tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, R, PowerPivot, PowerBI, and DAX.

- Ability to effectively utilize relevant methods, data, and tools to resolve technical challenges, communicate complex concepts to varied audiences, draw meaningful conclusions, and make informed recommendations.

- A strong desire to learn and continuously expand your expertise to support a variety of projects and workstreams.

- Experience in a non-life commercial (re)insurance pricing team or in predictive modeling and analytics within the (re)insurance industry is advantageous but not mandatory.
