Job Description

As a Shift Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the plant is consistently running over 5 days to achieve productivity targets while prioritizing Health and Safety. As part of the senior operational team, you will have the responsibility for the site and especially where day management are not present, to maintain the performance of the department in all aspects of people management, safety, quality, hygiene, and the machines performance, which will also extend to making certain decisions in other key departments such as the corrugator, engineering, and despatch.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead by Example: Maintain the highest standards of Health and Safety on your shift.
  • Deliver Production KPIs: Achieve the operational plan in all aspects of people management, safety, productivity, quality, hygiene, and machine performance.
  • Ensure Plant Operations: Run the plant consistently over the 24/5 period during your shift.
  • Maintain Site Hygiene: Ensure the levels of site hygiene are consistently high and all departments are following the BRC protocols critical for maintaining AA accreditation.
  • Collaborate with Engineering: Work with the engineering team to ensure the planned PPM and TPM schedules are fully achieved, maximizing machine reliability, efficiency, and reducing downtime.

Requirements

  • Production Management Experience: Ideally from working in a Corrugator or Conversion industry.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to influence, guide, and coach a team, as well as lead by example with excellent people management skills.
  • Ability to Learn: Learn new techniques to convert into best practice, with the energy and enthusiasm to drive the overall business goals.
  • Data Competence: Competent in dealing with data and using Microsoft office suite.
