To support our ongoing expansion, we are seeking a highly skilled Lead Civil Engineering Specialist with a concentration in drainage systems to become part of our innovative team.

Role Summary:

The firm is in search of a proficient Lead Civil Engineering Specialist with significant experience in drainage system design and oversight. The successful applicant will demonstrate a history of managing successful projects, showcasing strong technical skills, and providing creative solutions to complex engineering issues. As a vital contributor to the team, the Lead Civil Engineering Specialist will lead drainage design initiatives, work alongside multidisciplinary teams, and ensure that project outcomes meet client needs and comply with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and evaluation of drainage systems for various civil engineering initiatives, including stormwater management, flood mitigation, and drainage infrastructure.
  • Perform hydrological and hydraulic modelling to determine drainage needs and effectively reduce flood risks.
  • Create detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost assessments for drainage systems.
  • Engage with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals and permits.
  • Offer mentorship and technical support to junior engineers and project staff.
  • Work closely with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines to provide cohesive design solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in civil engineering with a specific emphasis on drainage design and management.
  • Expertise in modelling software such as Civils3D, Microstation, and Microdrainage, or equivalent platforms.
  • Thorough understanding of relevant codes, standards, and regulations related to drainage design (e.g., ASCE, EPA, local building codes).
  • Outstanding project management abilities, including task prioritisation, deadline adherence, and resource management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
