Job Summary

Wind Estate is seeking a highly skilled Land Manager to join their team in Edinburgh. As a key member of the organization, you will be responsible for securing ancillary land rights across Scotland and potentially the rest of the UK.

This is an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking individual to grow within the renewables industry and project development. You will have a variety of tasks in the office and in the field, negotiating contracts and building relationships, while representing the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Land Rights Acquisition: Proactively identify, design, and negotiate land rights for component delivery routes and grid connection routes, including overrun/oversail agreements.
  • Contract Implementation: Implement option to lease agreements, servitude agreements, wayleave agreements, and any other property-related agreements.
  • Record of Condition Surveys: Carry out record of condition surveys to ensure accurate documentation.
  • Financial and Contractual Input: Provide financial and contractual input to financial investment decisions and other commercial decisions, ensuring best value is achieved.
  • Land Referencing and Reporting: Land referencing and reporting of information using the Land Registry.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Liaise with external stakeholders, such as planning authorities, statutory consultees, landowners, solicitors, land agents, and grid network operators, as required.
  • Project Management: Report and manage several projects at one time, in the development phase as well as under construction.
Requirements
  • Contract Negotiation Experience: You are well-versed in reading and understanding legal documents and can demonstrate a minimum of a couple of years' experience in contract negotiation, preferably from negotiating land rights for renewable energy projects or infrastructure projects.
  • Analytical and Structured Approach: You have an analytical and structured approach to tasks and excel in problem-solving under pressure.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: You are good at putting yourself in the place of others, are solution-oriented, and understand the dynamics happening between different parties and interests.
  • IT Skills: You are good in IT with experience in Microsoft Office.
  • Motivation and Independence: You take pride in your work, are highly motivated, and able to work independently and within a team.
