Position Overview

A dedicated Kitchen Lead Chef is sought to oversee culinary operations in a care environment.

Employment Type: Full-time

Compensation: £14 - £16 per hour

Qualifications: Level 2/3 Food Hygiene Certification

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain compliance with the DBS Update Service
  • Complete all Mandatory Training

Providing high-quality, visually appealing meals is essential in a care setting. The chef will engage with residents to ensure their dining experience is enjoyable.

Core Duties
  • Lead by example in upholding hygiene standards and food quality.
  • Prepare fresh desserts and baked goods daily.
  • Design regular menus that respect cultural preferences while adhering to budget constraints and minimizing waste.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, manual handling protocols, infection control measures, and COSHH guidelines.
  • Monitor kitchen equipment functionality and report any issues to management.
  • Manage kitchen inventory and alert management regarding low stock levels.
  • Order supplies in accordance with budgetary guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and food storage areas.
  • Possess a valid Level 2/3 Food Hygiene certification.
  • Demonstrate proficient English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Hold a DBS certificate on the update service or be willing to obtain one.

Having a DBS registered with the online update service can expedite the hiring process.

Candidates must provide five years of references and either possess current mandatory training or be prepared to complete it prior to commencing employment.
