Job Summary:
Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a skilled Scientific Glassblower to join our team in Essex. As a Scientific Glassblower, you will be responsible for assisting in the manufacture of high-quality optical sampling components and accessories.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hand Finishing: Ensure that all glass components meet tight quality control specifications.
- Problem-Solving: Apply knowledge and expertise to assess and solve complex problems related to glass forming and manufacturing.
- Safe Work Environment: Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following all safety protocols and standards.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that all tools and equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.
- Training and Development: Train and support the growth of less skilled team members, as appropriate.
Requirements:
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a production environment, preferably in glassblowing or a related field.
- Material Expertise: Demonstrable experience working with quartz and pyrex materials.
- Technical Skills: Experience in both bench work and lathe work, as well as the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturing instructions.
