Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Oncology Pharmacist to join our team at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our pharmacy department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality clinical pharmacy services to our patients.

Main Duties
  • Provide advanced-level clinical pharmacy services to the Oncology and Haematology departments, working closely with medical and nursing staff to optimize patient care.
  • Monitor and check chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition products to ensure safe and effective use.
  • Support the development and expansion of oncology and haematology services, including the implementation of new treatments and therapies.
  • Collaborate with the Aseptics Team to ensure the safe preparation and administration of chemotherapy and other high-risk medications.
  • Contribute to the training and development of pharmacy staff, including pre-registration pharmacists and student technicians.
  • Participate in clinical audit, practice research, and other project work to improve patient outcomes and pharmacy services.
Person Specification

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Oncology Pharmacist who possesses the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Registered Pharmacist (General Pharmaceutical Council)
  • Bachelor/Master of Pharmacy or equivalent
  • Relevant hospital pharmacy experience, including oncology and haematology clinical pharmacy experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with medical and nursing staff
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
