About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Support Specialist to join our team at NHS Scotland. As a key member of our IT Applications service, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional support to our users, ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems, and contributing to the development of in-house applications and integrations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide first and second-line support to users, resolving complex problems and issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work closely with other team members, eHealth staff, and 3rd parties to collaborate on projects and deliver high-quality services.
  • Represent the team at meetings with senior managers and non-eHealth staff, communicating technical solutions and problems effectively.
  • Manage the dental inspection programme system, being the main point of contact for this system within the eHealth department.
  • Contribute to the specification and support of IT applications within a complex environment, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services.
Requirements
  • Relevant degree or diploma in a field such as IT, computer science, or a related field.
  • Experience in the specification and support of IT applications within a complex environment.
  • Proficiency in IT applications support and service delivery, with a strong understanding of large-scale SQL-based systems.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service and support.
