About the Role:
Aviva Zero is an innovative Personal Lines insurer based in London, aiming to excel in the UK market. Our approach combines the agility and focus of a start-up with the expertise and financial support of Aviva.
As a Test Engineering Manager, you will collaborate with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and the broader Software Engineering teams to deliver outstanding and timely customer results through ongoing development and delivery. You will spearhead enhancements to our testing standards and methodologies to boost the quality and efficiency of our outputs. Your leadership will be crucial in defining and executing our testing strategy, ensuring that continuous deployments meet desired customer expectations.
Key Skills and Experience Required:
- Proven experience in formulating and executing test strategies within event-driven and microservices architectures.
- Capability to guide engineering teams in adopting a quality-first mindset in development, utilizing test-driven development practices.
- Familiarity with contemporary development methodologies, including Agile, continuous deployments, DevOps, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Ability to work collaboratively, addressing challenges alongside colleagues while fostering a positive work environment.
- Experience in managing stakeholders at senior levels and a passion for mentoring and developing team members.
Our Technology Stack - (experience with all of the following is not mandatory):
- AWS: Lambda, ECS, Dynamo DB, S3, Event Bridge, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, VPC, Security Hub, Control Tower, and Cloud Trail.
- Additional Tools: CDK for Infrastructure as Code, Snowflake, LaunchDarkly, PagerDuty.
- Programming Languages: Predominantly Go, along with Python and Typescript.

- Starting salary around £85,000 (dependent on skills, experience, and qualifications).
