Wythenshawe, Manchester, United Kingdom Creative Support Full time

We are seeking a Lead Support Specialist to join our dedicated team within the South Manchester Mental Health Service, focusing on providing assistance to adult females facing significant mental health challenges. This role involves delivering round-the-clock support, which includes fulfilling sleep-in duties as part of the scheduled hours. Our service is registered with the CQC (Care Quality Commission) for personal care activities, catering to individuals residing in our accommodation.

Feedback from the women we support highlights their expectations from our staff team:

"To be able to prepare a good cup of tea and spend quality time with me"

"To empathize with my feelings during difficult times and invest time in understanding me"

"I love gardening and music; I appreciate companionship while gardening, but I also value my alone time to enjoy music and dance without interruptions."

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, and inclusive individual with strong organizational and leadership skills to empower individuals towards greater independence. The goal is to work closely with women to facilitate their transition using trauma-informed care, recovery-oriented approaches, and person-centered practices. You will play a vital role in ensuring a high quality of life for those we support, collaborating effectively with the women receiving services and partnering with various agencies involved in their care and support planning.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to engage in delivering a high-quality service, providing genuine job satisfaction while leveraging your experience in a senior capacity. You will receive exceptional line management support and professional development from a CQC-registered manager. Joining an established and skilled team, this role is perfect for someone aiming to advance their career in leadership and management. Comprehensive support will be provided throughout the probation period, including consistent supervision and access to training to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Creative Support has proudly served the Northenden community for over 25 years. In 2016, we transitioned from a residential service to supported accommodation to better meet the evolving needs of women transitioning from hospital settings. Throughout this period, our service model has adapted and improved based on the experiences of individuals living with mental health conditions. We emphasize personalized support planning and strong key worker relationships, with the primary aim of supporting women's recovery journeys and facilitating pathways to greater independence.

The role will encompass practical assistance with daily living activities, as well as facilitating and accessing a diverse range of activities that promote personal well-being. You will oversee daily staffing requirements and maintain excellent communication with line management and senior colleagues.

Flexible shifts will be scheduled on a rolling rota to cater to individual needs in a personalized manner. Experience in supervising staff is preferred, and prior experience along with relevant qualifications is advantageous.

Vacancy Reference Number: 65878

Applications for this role must be submitted via the Creative Support website using the above vacancy reference number.

Comprehensive training is provided, along with opportunities to work towards a QCF Diploma in Health and Social Care. Benefits of working with Creative Support include a probationary bonus, pension contributions, 28 days of annual leave, and company-paid enhanced DBS checks.

We are a passionate, inclusive, and anti-racist organization, recognized as a Stonewall Diversity Champion and a Disability Confident Employer, and we have recently received the Investors in People Gold award.

Please note that we can only accept applications from candidates who are located in and eligible to work within the UK. This position will not be open to sponsorship under the UKVI scheme.
