Hours: Full-time contract / permanent

Hourly Rate: £12.50 per hour

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Retail Assistant Manager to join our team at EG Group. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for managing the store in the absence of the site manager, ensuring that the team is operating smoothly and promoting sales, increasing profitability, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the inventory and stock control, including weekly stock takes and reports.
  • Ensure external sale items are stocked and presented.
  • Meet with target fuel stock holding by checking current fuel volumes, stock at site, and delivery plans.
  • Work to constantly drive down waste and inefficiency.
  • Review and adapt processes and procedures to improve efficiency and maximise output.
  • Handle customer enquiries.
  • Report any store or employee issues to the Store Manager.
  • Ensure Health & Safety, Food Safety, and hygiene procedures and standards are maintained and followed.
  • Ensure all cash is banked and calculated correctly.
  • Check floats and cashing up is done correctly.
  • Complete cashing/banking summaries and reports and perform the relevant checks.
  • Adhere to Challenge 25 policies on age-restricted items and checking and logging IDs.
